Design Studios

Design studios bring together students and educators from across the network to focus, problem-solve and ultimately improve school-based practices. Design studio hosts select a practice or strategy to highlight that has been used successfully in their own community. They are a powerful feature of the ExcEL Leadership Academy.
APRIL 2023
Three teachers spotlight the newcomer support systems they created and implemented. This Design Studio highlights the ExcEL micro-credential portfolio and serves as a model for participants developing their own portfolios.
DECEMBER 2022
Four teachers from Nashua NH discuss and reflect on strategies they used to build student voice for English Learners in their classrooms. The discussion follows the process they used (Analyze-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) to assemble and submit their teaching portfolio for the ExcEL micro-credential.
